Stuffed Things

I like to do a lot of crafty type stuff in my spare time, book/card making, stuffed animals, and even knitting and origami recently. I like being able to be really hands on and to build and make stuff. I miss sculpture a lot. Here are some of the stuffed animals I've done over the years. I've given a lot of them away so I don't have most of them anymore.

Dippy and My Friend

Every so often when Josephine and I get a chance to write together (which is seldom) we come up with some ridiculous song that we've poured about oh... 15 minutes of labor into constructing. Every year we write roughly 3 songs because we barely see each other. (However we are thinking about writing over skype). This past week we came up with 3 more ridiculous songs. We recorded only two of them, and took a video of only one.

Lyrics v

"With the Sky"

Raising confusion
The sun and the moon
Keeps the desert so dry
And the mountains so cool
For you

Brushing the sand
Away from eyes
the water you cry
Keeps me alive for a while

And I play with the shadows
That dance through your hair
The light always hides
But I don't even care
I fell for love
And my heart felt the pain
I tripped on a cloud
And fell down with the rain

I was so desperate
The bottle was dry
And my own addiction
Fulfilled my prediction
So I cheated on him
With the sky

And I play with the shadows
That dance through your hair
The light always hides
But I don't even care
I fell for love
And my heart felt the pain
And I tripped on a cloud
And fell down with the rain

One night we decided to do a cover of the song "Tin Man" by The Avett Brothers and we were just silly with sleep deprivation. So Dippy and My Friend presents their very first "Outtakes video". This really should have been thought of years ago. This is basically how all our recording sessions always end up, it's no wonder our songs are so bizarre.

(We did actually record the full song in case your wondering)

As for the other song we recorded, it can be found here. It's called "A Farewell Affair". The recording is quiet for some strange reason, no matter what I do I can't seem to fix it. So sorry about that.

Lyrics v

"A Farewell Affair"

Save the date
It's a trouble to remember
We'll throw you a party
At the end of December

Put on your spacesuit
And step across the line
She gave you a contraption
That kills your time

Turn up the light, turn up the light...

She's your go-to-gal
In perpetual emotion
She gave you a contraption
That kills your time

Swimming through the stars
It's a basic paradigm
She gave you a contraption
That takes you back in time

Turn up the light, turn up the light...

(Swimming through the stars
It's a basic paradigm
She gave you a contraption
That takes you back in time)

The Rodent Hour

4 versions of posters I did tonight for my friend and co worker Matt. He has a great radio show on Pratt radio called "The Rodent Hour". Mondays from 6-7 pm. Tune in!

I've been doing a lot of pieces with very limited color palettes... Not sure what that's about but it's been teaching me a lot.
